| Poor, neglected old xanga. I shall break the silence.
I wish it would get colder and foggier nowadays like this morning. I was savoring the moment and relished the feeling of cool mist brushing against my face. But I knew it wouldn't last. Why? Because the evil sun strikes through and kills my happiness. Haha! That sounds so dramatic. Lame, I know. But I'm tired of all this hot weather. And I'm tired of seeing girls walk around with scandalous tank tops and inappropriate short shorts when it should be scarf and coat season! I mean, it's almost November for goodness sake! And some girls attempt to mix summer and fall by wearing those scandalous tank tops and inappropriate short shorts with a scarf. Okay...lame. If you're cold, put some clothes on. Simple as that.

| Misunderstandings can be so tiring. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So AX this year was much more organized. It was better than last year and I enjoyed Masquerade a bit more although it's still not as entertaining as I thought it would be. I wish I got to watch Jyukai perform. I just started listening to their songs and the main singer has a beautiful voice in my opinion. But anywho, I didn't buy much this year...I think I spent more on food (stupid high expenses!). I did, however, buy my first wall scroll of Haruhi and it's GINORMOUS. Everytime I wake up now, all I see is huge Haruhi staring back at me haha. I love it though. Currently listening: Jyukai - Anata ga ita mori ("Fate Stay Night" ending song) | | |
| I'm not sure if it's the lonely night atmosphere or listening to slow songs, but I've realized that--besides having the one person who I love unconditionally--I'm quite shielded from the world. I don't know if it's a defensive thing or if I'm just shy...maybe even a little cynical, but I've never opened myself to anyone completely anymore. I've learned to not trust so completely, to not give so freely and now I'm just...alone. I don't know those who I used to be so close to as well anymore. I walk to school everyday passing millions of unknown faces, just listening to my music--quiet and content. And now I just feel so stripped, so bare, so...lonely. I've convinced myself that I'm fine with it, I can finally get some "me" time and break away from this neverending, frustrating world. Sigh. I haven't typed an entry in here for awhile and when I finally do, it's somewhat depressing heh. Gomenasai. I need sleep. | | |
| Spring Break is winding down to its last hour or so...I'm not looking forward to going back to school. I'm tired of trying to study and work so hard for nothing. None of my hard work pays off at all. I hate it. So this break was very well-deserved after a whole quarter of disappointment. I got to go to Disneyland w/ Truyen, Jackie, and Andrew on Thursday. My favorite place ever ~ We got to see the Aladdin Musical Spectacular at Disney's California Adventures and I really enjoyed it. For a condensed fifty minute musical, I thought it was quite entertaining, well directed, and beautifully arranged. Splendid indeed! The show was a modernized adaptation of the original featured film so there were some things that were different. There was also no Abu! But that was made up w/ a really cute Carpet character. I loved Genie. He had some pretty good [maybe a bit corny lol] lines since he was basically the comedian during the performance. Genie: [To Jafar after he becomes Sultan] Hey, you know if your last name was 'Pepper Shaker' you'd be known as 'Sultan Pepper Shaker.'
Genie: [To Iago] Where do you think you're going reject from the Tiki Room? Although we didn't get to go on many rides this year, I thought the day was very relaxing and fun. What can I say, I'm a kid at heart. Tonight, I went with Diane to watch the Pacific Chorale in the Renee and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall. Listening to the Chorale sing made me so nostalgic...I miss singing in choir with all my wonderful high school friends, I miss being a part of a musical family. I even saw Messy tonight but I didn't get a chance to say hello. He still seems the same--slightly rugged and distant though still handsome for his older age. I can't believe he's going to be 61 soon! Amazing. This is one of my favorite pictures of him (which wasn't taken by me):
lol It looks like one of those pages from a magazine portraying eligible bachelors or something =P Anywho, I thought the theater is gorgeous with its undulating walls and bright, spacious hall. The acoustics weren't as spectacular as I thought it would be, but it's much more suitable for choral/orchestral concerts than the Segerstrom Hall. Segerstrom Hall is meant more for musicals and plays. Speaking of musicals, I'm going to watch Phantom of the Opera for the third time on April 16th at OCPAC this year. I'm quite excited! *sigh* Yeah, I know. I'm a crazy Phantom fan. And darn proud of it. =)

| Whenever I see an asian performer on stage or something, I'm always like "Yeah! You go girl/dude!" haha. I can't help it. We don't see as much talented asians performing in society nowadays. And the one person who I never get tired of hearing is Leah Salonga. I was just browsing through youtube videos and I happened to see her audition process for "Miss Saigon" (which I've never seen but I really want to now!), and this song is currently stuck in my head: "Movie in my mind." Just watching Leah in the video reminds me of all the auditions I've done in high school for choir and it makes me miss singing w/ Messy and everyone in choir. UCI choir was fun n' all, but it was so formal, so serious...? It just wasn't the same as performing with Irvine Singers or IHS Chorale...I really miss singing with all you guys. Anywho, *ahem* back to Leah. Haha. She's only 20 in the video and she's so cute! I love her accent. =) This is just the beginning of her Broadway career since "Miss Saigon" is her first major onstage production. She's also performed as Eponine and Fantine in "Les Miserables," and she's also the singing voice of Jasmine and Mulan in the Disney films. So yeah, she's awesome haha. The "movie in my mind" song actually starts at 3:48 in the video, but feel free to watch the whole thing and listen to the other songs she sings because they're all beautiful. (Oh, and the girl in the beginning of the video is not her.) link: http://youtube.com/watch?v=g0TJxFP0Rf0&feature=related | | |
